BURSA MALAYSIA GOES LIVE WITH ITS NEW TRADING ENGINE POWERED BY NASDAQ OMX

Bursa Malaysia (BURSA:MK) and NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NDAQ), today announced that Bursa Malaysia has gone live with their new trading engine, Bursa Trade Securities 2 (BTS2) powered by NASDAQ OMX’s X-stream INET. The project was delivered ahead of schedule on 2 December 2013, well in advance of the initial target of the first quarter of 2014.
"The delivery of the BTS2 project is a significant milestone for the Exchange. It reflects our commitment to enhance our trading environment for all our stakeholders. We are pleased to have partnered with NASDAQ OMX, to advance our trading platform to support the future needs for the securities market,” said Dato' Tajuddin Atan, Chief Executive Officer, Bursa Malaysia.
The new platform now handles trading of equities, fixed income, Exchange Traded Funds and issuer warrants for the Malaysian bourse. X-Stream INET's system robustness and speed is leveraged to drive exchange innovation for Bursa Malaysia as it attracts a variety of market participants and creates innovative products and services to match international demand.
