BURSA MALAYSIA BERHAD ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

Malaysia Berhad ("Bursa Malaysia" or the “Exchange”) today announced
the appointment of Encik Redza Goh Aik Meng and Puan Sharifatu Laila Syed Ali
as Independent Non-Executive Directors to its Board of Directors (“Board”),
effective 27 March 2024.
Encik Redza
Goh Aik Meng brings to the Board extensive experience spanning 39 years in
Information Technology (IT) and digitalisation, with focus on driving business
and organisational transformations. He
most recently served as Digital and Technology Advisor for DIALOG Berhad until
February 2023. Prior to this role, he was the Vice President and Group Chief
Information Officer of PETRONAS, where he led significant digital and IT
initiatives. He spent the majority of his earlier corporate years at Accenture,
before retiring as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Accenture
Malaysia in 2014 after 26 years of service. Encik Redza Goh graduated with a
Bachelor’s degree in Computation from the University of Manchester Institute of
Science & Technology (UMIST).
Puan
Sharifatu Laila Syed Ali rejoins the Board with her wealth of experience in
investment management and capital markets. She was previously a Public Interest
Director and Independent Non-Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia Berhad from 1
October 2020 to 16 August 2023. With a career that spans over 30 years, she has
held key positions in notable Malaysian financial institutions, including roles
at Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), and
Lembaga Tabung Haji. She was also the Chief Executive Officer of ValueCap from
2002 until 2018. Puan Sharifatu graduated with BSc (Hons) in Science from
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Master of Business Administration from
University of Malaya. She has also completed the Advanced Management Programme
at Harvard Business School. She is currently an Independent Non-Executive
Director of YTL Corporation Berhad and a Member of the Investment Committee of
University of Malaya.

Abdul Wahid Omar, Chairman of Bursa Malaysia, said, “Encik Redza Goh’s and Puan
Sharifatu Laila’s appointment as Independent Non-Executive Directors mark

exchange. Encik Redza’s illustrious career in IT and digital transformation
will serve us well as the Exchange deepens efforts to augment customer
experience and achieve efficiencies through further digitalisation and new
technologies. Equally, Puan Sharifatu’s return enriches our Board with her vast
experience in investment management and capital markets. Her familiarity with
Bursa Malaysia's strategic priorities, combined with a fresh perspective from
her recent experiences, aligns perfectly with our intent to truly fulfil the
purpose of the Exchange."

Tan Sri
Abdul Wahid also acknowledged the contribution of Madam Chong Chye Neo as she
retires from the Board. “We wish to thank Madam Chong for her service and
guidance to Bursa Malaysia. Madam Chong has been an invaluable member of the
Board and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.” Madam Chong
retired as Independent Non-Executive Director effective 27 March 2024, after
serving Bursa Malaysia for more than five years since 21 December 2018.
