The FBM KLCI index gained 41.60 points or 2.69% on Friday. The Finance Index fell 0.40% to 17290.41 points, the Properties Index climbed 1.00% to 1012.57 points and the Plantation Index rose 1.49% to 7419.87 points. The market traded within a range of 8.97 points between an intra-day high of 1590.56 and a low of 1581.59 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include HSI-CXG, FITTERS, HSI-HUT, INGENIEU, BPURI, TWL, MYEG, HSI-HS2, SNS and YTL. Trading volume increased to 3908.91 mil shares worth RM3154.35 mil as compared to Tuesday’s 3811.47 mil shares worth RM3055.29 mil.
Leading Movers of the KLCI index were YTLPOWR (+82 sen to RM4.79), YTL (+64 sen to RM3.26), SIME (+19 sen to RM2.87), TENAGA (+88 sen to RM12.32) and TM (+17 sen to RM6.27). Lagging Movers were MAXIS (-14 sen to RM3.60), SIMEPLT (-14 sen to RM4.42), IHH (-21 sen to RM6.29), RHBBANK (-4 sen to RM5.44) and IOICORP (-11 sen to RM4.09). Market breadth was positive with 644 gainers as compared to 417 losers.
