FAQs
Statement of Account
- When do I receive the CDS statement of account?
You will receive a monthly CDS statement of account from Bursa Depository in respect of the preceding month which has a debit or credit entry in the CDS account. However, when there are no entries but there are securities in your CDS account, Bursa Depository shall issue the statement in the month of June and December.
For depositors with CDS accounts under Inactive status, Bursa Depository issues the statement of account only in the month of December.
For depositors with CDS accounts under Dormant status or nil balance of securities, no statement of account will be issued by Bursa Depository.
- What is a statement cycle?
A statement cycle is a period which is pre-determined by the system with the purpose of generating the statement of account. This means, any transactions performed after the statement cycle date will be updated in the next CDS statement cycle.
The CDS statement of account cycle is assigned to either the 7th, 14th, 21st or 28th of each month. For principal and nominee accounts of ADA/stockbroking company, the statement cycle is assigned on the 28th of each month.
- Why are the securities I recently bought were not reflected in my latest statement of account? If the settlement date falls after the date of your statement cycle, the transaction will be reflected in your next statement of account.
- How do I request for a backdated copy of my CDS statement of account?
If you are an individual depositor and have registered for Bursa Anywhere, you may access your previous twelve (12) months’ CDS statements of accounts OR statements of accounts since the registration for electronic CDS statements, whichever is the latest, in the mobile application.
Alternatively, you may request for a copy of CDS statement of account from your ADA/stockbroking company if the date of the statement is less than one (1) year from the date of retrieval. The ADA/stockbroking company may impose charges for this service request.
If the date of the statement is more than one (1) year from the date of retrieval, you must request it formally from Bursa Depository via a written hard copy letter. Charges are applicable for such request.
- What are the possible reasons for the failure to receive the CDS statement of account?
It may be due to the following circumstances:
- The depositor’s correspondence address or email address is not updated with his ADA/stockbroking company;
- When the CDS account is not yet formalised by the individual depositor; or
- When there has been no debit or credit entry into the CDS account, during that particular month.
