Compliance Management
The Integrity Governance and Compliance Management function within the Bursa Group is primarily responsible for managing and providing reasonable assurance that the Bursa Group’s activities are in compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulatory requirements, code of ethics and business conduct as well as internal policies and procedures. Further, this function seeks to safeguard integrity and promote the integrity governance culture supported by appropriate policies, practices and controls within the organization itself.
It serves as a strategic partner to the Board, Management and business by sharing risk and compliance insights based on information gathered across the value chain. Its regular and consistent engagement with the various business units within the Group allows a more global insight into the company’s operation, associated risks and implication. With an end-to-end view across the enterprise, Integrity Governance and Compliance Management is well positioned to offer valuable observations that have the potential to impact strategic business decisions, hence assists in achieving good business decisions.
Integrity Governance and Compliance Management Framework
Bursa Malaysia Integrity Governance and Compliance Management Framework was formulated to set out Bursa Malaysia’s approach towards managing its compliance obligations and mitigating compliance risk in order to achieve Bursa Malaysia’s compliance mission of ensuring attainment of high standards of compliance with relevant laws, regulations, industry codes and standards, as well as standards of good governance, best practices, ethics and community expectations.
More specifically, the framework aims to ensure Bursa Malaysia activities are carried out in a professional and environmentally responsible way by encouraging, monitoring and enforcing compliance with the law by embedding and inculcating a strong compliance culture within the Group.
The Integrity Governance and Compliance Management Framework was designed based on the internationally recognized ISO 19600 Compliance Management System – Guidelines and adopts the Bursa Malaysia’s Enterprise Risk Management Principles and Framework where applicable.
