Day Order
What is Day Order?
A Day Order is an order which remains valid until the end of the trading day during which the order is entered. Orders to buy or sell a stock are good for a trading day. Orders that have been placed but not executed during the morning session (first session) will be automatically carried over into the afternoon session (second session) of the same trading day.
Should I carry forward my order to the afternoon session?
No. All unmatched orders entered during the morning session will be automatically carried forward to the afternoon session by the trading system.
Will I lose my order priority?
No. There will be no loss of order priority. The unmatched order will remain in the order book.
What should I do if I do not wish to carry forward the unmatched morning session orders to the afternoon session?
Investors who do not wish to carry forward the unmatched orders to the afternoon session are advised to manually withdraw the orders before they are matched.
When can I withdraw the morning session unmatched order?
Investors who wish to withdraw their unmatched orders are allowed to cancel their orders from 2:00pm onwards. Order matching on the second session will commence at 2:30pm. Therefore, investors are advised to cancel their orders before 2:30pm.
What is the new trading limit with the implementation of Day Order?
A new trading limit will be applied based on the reference price and shall be valid for the whole trading day as follows:
- Stocks trading RM1.00 and above - a 30% limit shall be applied
- Stocks trading below RM1.00 - a limit of 30 sen shall be applied
What is the status of my order if the stocks fall under suspension ("Forbid" status) in the morning session and re-quoted in the afternoon session?
All unmatched orders of a suspended ("Forbid" status) stock will be eliminated immediately.
