Training/Workshop Title CSR Wednesday - "The case for diversity in the boadroom"
Description Of Training

This is the time of year where many companies are looking to review the composition of their boards of directors in advance of April's many AGMs. The hot topic in corporate governance for 2011 was undoubtedly the issue of gender diversity on boards. In June 2011, Malaysia took an interesting lead, when the Cabinet set a target for all businesses to have 30% of - decision-making positions filled by women within 5 years. This approach has been implemented in the public sector in 2004 with good rates of success: The ratio in the civil service grew from 18.8% in 2004 to to 32.3% in 2010. At this CSR Wednesday, a panel will share their views, thoughts and experience of diversity in the boardroom. Are quotas the way to go? Are there best practices that can be learned? What will it take to reach a tipping point in corporate Malaysia?
