According to data released by Fortune Magazine and the World Bank, companies consist of more than 60% of the 150 largest global economic entities.
This growing global economic dominance of companies highlights the degree of influence companies have on global issues and the high level of accountability placed on companies to act responsibly in their economic, social and environmental management.
The majority of business executives believe governments should lead the behavioural changes that will both guide and encourage companies to address issues such as climate change.71% of businesses believe governments, either alone or in cooperation with the private sector and individuals, should provide leadership1.
