Bursa Malaysia has always advocated corporate responsibility as key to sustainability. Today, sustainability, which supports stakeholder value creation, should be the main focus of every responsible company.
Tip of the Week: Approximately only 10 percent of every landfill can be cleaned up.
Sustainability reporting requires the evaluation of corporate performance in environmental, social and economic terms. It is a demonstration to stakeholders that the company is striving to meet stakeholders' performance values and expectations across all three dimensions.
Sustainability frameworks provide guidance on how organizations can manage as well as disclose their sustainability performance. Some frameworks provide a good basis for continuous improvement as well as crossindustry comparisons. They are generally designed for use by organisations of any size, sector or location.
Some organisations report using a mix of sustainability frameworks to meet the reporting needs of their stakeholders. Companies should adopt and adapt the relevant frameworks to suit their needs.
